Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 10/20/2007
Organic grain and feedstuff prices mostly steady compared to
two weeks ago. Corn prices steady as buyers look to secure
future needs. Soybeans steady on light offerings. Small grains
not tested. Alfalfa hay steady on good demand. Good demand on
moderate offerings. Rain fell throughout the upper midwest for
most of the last two weeks. Producers looking for dryer weather
to finish harvest as water logged fields slow harvest and reports
of corn moisture levels increasing 3-4 percent due to rain.
Companies and brokers offer contracts to lock in production for
the 2008 crop year. Monthly and 3rd quarter averages located
below.
