Edible Beans Maintain ValueVANCOUVER - Oct 19/07 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets maintained their values against relatively tight stocks and difficulty by importers in easily originating product to cover outstanding needs for 2007-08. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 1127, up seven points from the previous week and compared to just 823 at this time last year. Markets are 92 points shy of the record, which was set at 1219 in June of 1990. The grower index finished four points higher at 1015, versus 707 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 80.6%, down 0.1 points from last week but up 3.7 points from this time last year.
