Australian Livestock Auction Action SinksSYDNEY - Oct 19/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week as decreased sheep offerings swamped rising cattle sales. Throughput for the week totalled 18,063 sheep and lambs, versus 29,286 head during the previous week's auctions, and 3,043 head of cattle, compared to 2,417 last week. "Cattle throughput was slightly higher," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Despite last weeks optimism of firming prices, this week there was a little retreat. Reserves were in sympathy with last week, resulting in a large passed-in rate. Desperate reading as this is, it gives us an up to date guide on market conditions."
