Lentil Demand Exceeds Grower SellingVANCOUVER - Oct 12/07 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their upward momentum during the past week, with demand from end users remaining ahead of offers from growers in both the United States and Canada. Markets in the United States are profoundly affected by recent USDA PL-480 food aid demand. Average prices paid on last week's tender were U.S. $7.82 per 100 pounds (cwt) higher than those paid one month earlier, come in at $31.73 cwt delivered U.S. Gulf ports for 9,820 metric tons (MT) of lentils for November shipment from origin.
