USDA Buys 3,080 MT Peas
KANSAS CITY - Oct 12/07 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 3,080 metric tons (MT) of yellow split peas for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 107B, the pulses were bought packed in 50 kg bags for shipment from interior plants between November 1 and 22 or from plants located at port between November 23 and December 13.
In announcing the purchase results, the USDA said, "Offers for 140 MT(consolidation number 425151-1) were not purchased due to price. No offers were received for 190 MT of Yellow Split Peas under (consolidation number 425151-2) and 2,120 MT of Yellow Split Peas under (consolidation number 425151-1)."
