Short Covering Supports Food PeasVANCOUVER - Oct 5/07 - SNS -- North American field pea markets continued to advance in short covering by exporters and processors, who continue to struggle to originate product from growers. In the United States, major transportation problems at port terminals in Washington State and Oregon are magnified by grower holding and tight processing capacity. Ongoing USDA PL-480 food aid tender activity does not seem to be helping the situation, with the USDA stubbornly trying to buy split yellow peas for November and December shipment from origin.
