Competition on World Markets RisingCHICAGO - Oct 3/07 - SNS -- International agriculture commodity markets remain quite busy, with many market participants surprised to see the number of countries emerging as exporters rising as prices rise. One contributing factor appears to be rising international freight rates. This is driving up asking prices for North American origin product, creating better opportunities for smaller, regional suppliers to export grain. This certainly seemed to be reflected in this week's Egyptian wheat import tender, with exporters in the United States surprised by the number of origins participating in the tender.
