India's STCs Dumping Out PulsesVANCOUVER - Oct 3/07 - SNS -- Pulses bought by India's state trading companies on tenders earlier in the year continue to haunt current markets as those agencies hold tenders to sell that merchandise. In the latest round, MMTC Limited's Calcutta office is tendering October 8 to sell 38,000 metric tons (MT) of Canadian origin whole yellow peas. Meanwhile, MMTC's Mumbai office will tender October 9 to sell 2,900 MT of Burmese origin toor whole, 900 MT of Burmese origin urad and 1,400 MT of Canadian origin red lentil (masoor). The minimum bids are in 100 ton lots, with MMTC saying it will make s decision on successful bids by October 12.
