Firm Tone For BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Sep 28/07 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone in relatively light trading conditions during the week. Markets were helped by positive ending stocks news from the USDA at week’s end. It estimates that safflower stocks on hand total 4,550 metric tons (MT), their lowest September 1 stock level since 1998 and a continuation of the downtrend which has been in place since the summer of 2000, when season ending stocks peaked at 37,278 MT.
