USDA Certifies 42 VarietiesWASHINGTON - Sep 26/07 - SNS -- The USDA issued certificates of protection to developers of 42 new plant varieties, including include wheat, soybean, and cotton. The certificates are being issued under the Plant Variety Protection Act. The certificates require that the varieties be new, distinct, uniform and stable. The owners will have the exclusive right to reproduce, sell, import and export their products in the United States for the duration of protection. The certificates are: - the 91M30, 90A06, 90M02, 90M80, 90M92, 91M01, 91M41, 91M80, 92M11, 92M21, 92M41, 92M53, 92M54, 92M76, 92M81, 92M82, 93M14, 93M61, 93M62, 93M70 and 94M71 varieties of soybean, developed by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Johnston, Iowa - the Ripper* variety of common wheat, developed by Colorado Wheat Research Foundation, Centennial, Colo. - the DP 493 variety of cotton, developed by D&PL Technology Holding Company, LLC, Scott, Miss. - the 91M61, 92M02, 92M03, 92M33, 92M51, 92M52, 92M73, 92M74, 92M75, 93M13, 93M43, 93M52, 93M81, 93M82, 93M95, 93M96, 94M31, 95M60, and 95M82 varieties of soybean, developed by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Johnston, Iowa. * In the United States, seed of this variety shall be sold by variety name only as a class of certified seed, and shall conform to the number of generations specified by the owner of the rights (84 STAT. 1542, as amended, 7 U.S.C. 2321 ET SEQ).
