Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - Sep 21/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on a general increase in livestock offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 43,003 sheep and lambs, versus 21,241 head during the previous week's auctions, and 4,824 head of cattle, compared to 2,969 last week. "Cattle throughput increased this week with the inevitable result of further major falls in price and again a large passed-in rate," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Vendors are reluctantly accepting prices more readily than last week and as desperate as it may seem, there's no reason for it to do other than fall a little more next week if no moisture is forthcoming."
