USDA Buys 5,340 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Sep 19/07 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 5,340 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 097A, the pulses were bought packed in bags for shipment from interior plants between October 16 and November 6 or from plants located at port between November 7 and 28. In releasing details of the purchases, the USDA said. "140 MT of Light Red Kidney beans (consolidation number 06-00935) were rejected due to price. There were no offers for 530 MT of Yellow Split Peas (consolidation number 07-00736); 670 MT of Bean Substitutable (consolidation number 06-00935) and 180 MT of Bean Substitutable (consolidation number 06-00939)."
