Few Changes in ChickpeasVANCOUVER - Sep 7/07 - SNS -- Few changes were noted in chickpea markets during the past week even though the proportion of large caliber kabuli chickpeas available from Canadian suppliers will be down from last year. U.S. Chickpeas markets finished the 2006-07 marketing year with prices easing 1% below the recent three year average annual price on inter-dealer markets in that country. Analysis of the monthly price pattern reveals the highest monthly average was $39.00 per cwt in February, while the lowest monthly average trading level was $36.00 per cwt in August. During the latest three year period, the highest monthly average trading level was $40.33 per cwt in January, compared to the lowest monthly average of $35.17 per cwt in August.
