USDA Buys 10,570 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Sep 6/07 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 10.570 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 097, the pulses were bought packed in 50 kg bags for shipment from interior plants between October 1 and 22 or from plants located at port between October 23 and November 13.
In releasing results of the tender invitation, the USDA it received no offers of "230 MT of Red Beans under consolidation number 07-00704, 240 MT of Yellow Split Peas under consolidation number 07-00639, 260 MT under consolidation number 07-00748, 1,500 MT under consolidation number 07-00768.
"The following were rejected due to price: 70 MT of Red Beans under consolidation number 07-00704, 70 MT of Yellow Split Peas under consolidation number 07-00639 and 190 MT under consolidation number 07-00740."
