Canadian Poultry Placements Slip
OTTAWA - Aug 28/07 - SNS -- July placements of hatchery chicks onto farms in Canada were down from month and up from year earlier levels for chickens, according to the latest data from Statistic Canada.
Chicken placements were estimated at 57.9 million birds in June, up 4.7% from June 2006. Placements of turkey poults on farms decreased 3.0% to 2.0 million birds.
