Yellow Peas StrengthenVANCOUVER - Aug 17/07 - SNS -- Yellow pea markets strengthened during the past week against a strong opening season book for North American exports and additional tender activity by the USDA. In tenders announced during the week, the USDA said it is seeking offers of 7,890 metric tons (MT) of yellow split peas for last half September shipment from interior processing plants. This lifts the quantity of yellow peas sought on food aid tenders to 16,240 MT so far for shipment in 2007-08, up from 14,860 MT in September and October last year. Next week's regularly scheduled USDA PL-480 food aid tender is expected to seek more whole or split yellow peas. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
