Peas Unchanged to EasierVANCOUVER - Aug 10/07 - SNS -- Field peas markets were unchanged to easier in Canada and the United States amid relatively limited buying interest. Processors and exporters report they remain busy moving old crop peas to export shipping positions and starting to accumulate new crop product. The week started with 26% of Saskatchewan's field pea crop in the bin and another 21% in swath. However, rainy weather the last half of the week slowed harvest activity in much of the growing area. Quality problems are being reported with early harvested fields, with pricessors complaining about bleaching and small caliber product as a result of the heat in July.
