Australian Livestock Auction Action RiseSYDNEY - Aug 10/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on a general increase in offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 29,338 sheep and lambs, versus 19,530 head during the previous week's auctions, and 3,451 head of cattle, compared to 2,326 last week. "We all knew markets could take a nasty turn if it didn't rain in July or August but the speed of the turn around is like lightning," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Tuesday's sheep and lamb sale saw good clearances and in particular mutton was very dear. By Thursday clearances and values had deteriorated considerably."
