Peas Little Changed in Quiet TradeVANCOUVER - Aug 3/07 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were little changed under relatively quiet trading conditions. Supplies of new crop field peas are rising across the continent, with early seeded crops being harvested in Saskatchewan and good progress reported in the United States. The week started with 60% of Washington State's field pea crop in the bin, compared to 33% of the Idaho crop being harvested and 47% of Montana's. Field peas in North Dakota were rated 88% mature, with some early seeded crops being harvested. Yield indications from processors are mixed and reveal deep divisions of opinion about the impact recent hot and dry weather in western Canada had on yield prospects.
