Bean markets Firm in Light TradeVANCOUVER - Aug 3/07 - SNS -- North American and international dry edible bean markets finished the week little changed in light trade. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 985, up three points from the previous week; while the grower index finished unchanged at 875. Dry edible bean crops in the United States are mostly in good condition, judging from the week opening crop conditions reports from the USDA. Even so, markets see pockets of problems in the growing area which are combining with reduced seedings for some classes of beans to affect new crop pricing ideas.
