UK Pea Crops Hurt by FloodsVANCOUVER - Jul 27/07 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week mixed as market participants tried to reconcile very different stories from the various producing regions around the world. Heavy flooding in the England has had a clear impact of that country's marrowfat and green pea crops, resulting in the loss of some fields and quality damage to others. The scope of damage will not be known until the floods recede. By contrast, crops in France have rapidly matured under a heat wave The first deliveries of new crop green peas were reported in western Canada during the week. Grower deliveries to elevators and processors were reported in North Dakota; and the USDA issued its first commodity loan payment for peas to growers in Kansas during the week.
