U.S. Egg Output Drops 1 Percent
WASHINGTON - Jul 23/07 - SNS -- U.S, reveals today's USDA update.
egg totalled 7.36 billion throughout June 2007, down 1% from the previous year.
Production included 6.24 billion table eggs, and 1.12 billion hatching eggs, of which 1.05 billion were broiler-type and 65 million were egg-type.
The total number of layers during June 2007 averaged 339 million, down 1% from last year.
June egg production per 100 layers was 2,169 eggs, up a little from June 2006.
