Slow Demand Moderates Pea PriceVANCOUVER - Jul 6/07 - SNS -- Slow spot export shipping demand helped moderate prices for North American field peas during the past week. Canadian whole yellow peas are now sitting about U.S. $10 per metric ton (MT) below the record highs established the middle of June for inter-dealer markets. This season, grower bids in western Canada came within CDN $2.20 MT from matching their record high bid level set for whole yellow peas during the 2002-03 marketing year. Green peas fell $110 MT short of their record high of $358.25 MT for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plants, also set during the 2002-03 marketing year.
