Lentils Hold Value in Slow TradeVANCOUVER - Jul 6/07 - SNS -- North American lentil markets held their value with product available from growers remaining tightly balanced with the needs of processors and exporters. Market activity was also influenced by the fact it was a holiday shortened trading week in both Canada and the United States. Traders in Canada were off work Monday, while some of their counterparts in the United States took the first half of the week off and others the second half. Canadian lentil crops continue to be rated in mostly good to excellent condition. The week started with 60% of Saskatchewan's lentil crop rated good and 36% excellent, compared to 54% good and 34% excellent at the same time last year.
