Busy Finish to Weekly TradeCHICAGO - Jul 6/07 - SNS -- Agriculture commodity markets are finished the week;s trading on a relatively busy note, with continued trading activity reported to Pacific Rim destinations. The USDA released its latest weekly export sales summary before markets opened today. Wheat export sales were higher than expected at 538,400 metric tons (MT). Corn export sales were higher than expected at 1,067,700 MT of current and 886,000 of new crop for a total of 1,953,700. Weekly soybean export sales were also better than expected at 192,100 MT of current crop and 136,300 MT of new crop for a total of 328,400. Soybean meal sales were about as expected at 99,800 MT of current crop and 800 MT of new crop for a total of 100,600 MT; as well soybean oil export sales at 13,600 MT.
