Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Jul 2/07 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for the rest of Monday and Tuesday Continuing dry. Some frost over the southeast interior early Tuesday morning. Generally light to moderate SW to SE winds and some weak afternoon seabreezes along the east coast. Winds shifting warmer NW'ly in the west on Tuesday. EXTENDED OUTLOOK With the subtropical ridge lying through central Queensland, fine weather is expected across virtually the entire state during the week and into the weekend. A series of cold fronts passing over southern Australia are expected to produce some high level cloud near the southern border over the next few days but any rain will be confined to New South Wales. Warm fresher NW winds are expected ahead of one of the stronger fronts crossing the southern interior during Wednesday with any morning frost confined to the Granite Belt only. Cooler conditions following this front through most of the interior on Thursday with fresh to possibly strong W to SW winds developing about the southeast in its wake. These winds to ease on Friday and shift more S to SW. Moderate onshore SE winds in the far north to produce just isolated showers about the east coast north of Cooktown.
