Brighter Mustard Seed PictureVANCOUVER - Jun 29/07 - SNS -- This week's Statistics Canada and USDA seeded area reports gave a strong picture of the potential supply situation facing North American mustard seed markets in 2007-08. Seeded area in the United States is up 42% over last year at an estimated 57,500 acres, while Canadian area is up 32% at 443,000 acres. Most of the U.S. crop is yellow, while Statistics Canada reported at least 240,000 acres of yellow; 110,000 acres of brown; and 60,000 acres of oriental were seeded in that country this year.
