Few Changes in Lentil MarketsVANCOUVER - Jun 29/07 - SNS -- International green and red lentil markets were little changed on the week, despite being surprised by Statistics Canada's seeded area estimates for the crop. Demand for both green and red lentils looks excellent for the coming marketing year, with markets expecting residual supplies of both classes to remain at manageable levels. Green lentil ending stocks in Canada are down sharply from last year. This is also the case in the United States, where the quantity of lentils on hand as of June 1 sank 69% from 1.8 million cwt (100 pound units) last year to 554,000 this year.
