Birdseeds Firm in Featureless TradeVANCOUVER - Jun 22/07 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained a relatively firm tone through an otherwise featureless week. Confectionary sunflower, white proso millet and canaryseed markets were mainly unchanged on the week. Developing crops remain in mostly good to excellent condition across much of the growing area, but growers remain reluctant to chase markets, whether to sell old crop stocks remaining on their farms or enter new crop contracts. Oil type sunflower markets were unchanged in North Dakota, but down 10 cents per 100 pounds in Kansas at U.S. $17.85 to $18.75 cwt in new crop shipping positions and $16.95 cwt on spot markets delivered Goodland.
