Australian Livestock Auction Action SinkSYDNEY - Jun 15/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd plunged during the past week on a general decline in livestock offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 26,053 sheep and lambs, versus 35,057 head during the previous week's auctions, and 2,092 head of cattle, compared to 4,963 last week. "Short numbers certainly suited the sheep market which showed further gains in lamb values both slaughter and store," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Mutton sheep were scarce and dear, and at last we are seeing some movement on quality young ewes joined to both Merino and terminal sires."
