European Feed Peas StrengthenVANCOUVER - Jun 1/07 - SNS -- Feed pea markets in Europe finished the week on a stronger note, with grower bids in France jumping sharply against local production worries. Seeded area in France is down from last year and the country's Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP) believes residual stocks at the close of the 2006-07 marketing campaign totalled 60,000 metric tons (MT), down from 123,000 MT last year. In combination with drought concerns in other parts of continental Europe, these factors forced a major jump in bid levels in France from Euros 165 last week to up to 195 in parts of the country this week.
