Quiet Week for ChickpeasVANCOUVER - May 25/07 - SNS -- Chickpeas posted another quiet week, with little movement in prices reported for primary origins. Small caliber kabuli and desi chickpea markets welcomed news that Pakistan's government has banned exports of the pulses even though the country's harvest is up sharply over last year. Production from the rabi season harvest was pegged at 706,000 metric tons (MT), up from just 459,000 in 2005-06.
