Dairy Product Markets Generally Firmer
WASHINGTON - May 25/07 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were mainly up over the seven days finishing May 19, judging from today's USDA statistics.
Cheddar Cheese prices obtained for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.63 per pound. The price per pound advanced 6.7 cents versus last week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.62 per pound, up 6.0 cents versus last week.
Butter prices paid for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.43 per pound. The U.S. price per pound declined 0.1 cents from the previous week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices paid for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.67 per pound. The U.S. price per pound gained 2.6 cents versus the previous week.
