Increased Red Meat StocksWASHINGTON - May 22/07 - SNS -- Total red meat supplies in freezers rose 14 million pounds in April to 956.8 million pounds, down 2% from the previous year, notes the USDA in its latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Frozen pork supplies rose 5% during the month to 522 million pounds, up almost 2 million pounds from the previous year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 12% from last month at 61.9 million pounds and down 10% from last year. Supplies of beef were down 7% from year earlier levels at 411.8 million pounds, down around 14 million pounds from the previous month.
