Few Changes in ChickpeasVANCOUVER - May 18/07 - SNS -- International chickpeas markets were little changed at week's end as available supplies remain just behind the day to day needs of the markets. Small caliber kabuli and desi type chickpeas remain in relatively good demand from the Indian subcontinent, which remains a strong importer of all classes of pulses. Interestingly, India is also an exporter of large caliber kabuli chickpeas. Sales were impossible most of the current marketing year because of a ban on exports of all pulses.
