Australian Livestock Auction Action DownSYDNEY - May 18/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week on lower sheep and lamb offerings swamped an increase in cattle. Throughput for the week totalled 32,662 sheep and lambs, versus 37,836 head during the previous week's auctions, and 3,655 head of cattle, compared to 2,852 last week. "A week made excellent by widespread rainfall and good throughputs," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "The effect of the rain was immediate on today's cattle sale with young black steers gaining up to 40c/kg, and 300+ kg steers by 30c/kg."
