Tightening Supplies Support LentilsVANCOUVER - May 11/07 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week mostly firmer in light inter-dealer and export trading activity. Limited supplies of product are available to markets, with North American farmers busy seeding this year's crops and competing producers mostly sold out. Combined with a weak U.S. dollar, this helped drive prices higher. Markets were nonplussed by forecasts of a sharp increase in the prospective size of the 2007-08 Australian harvest.
