Australian Livestock Auction Action UpSYDNEY - May 11/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on increased sheep and lamb offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 37,836 sheep and lambs, versus 23,641 head during the previous week's auctions, and 2,852 head of cattle, compared to 3,310 last week. "Cattle numbers dropped . . . on what could only be described as an erratic weeks trading, ending with some unsavory price signals which only rain can wrest," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Clearly the market fundamentals are not as promising as they were some months ago but the stop start breaking of the drought, 'if that is what it is', is playing serious games with the psyche of the market place."
