Markets Busier at Mid-WeekCHICAGO - May 9/07 - SNS -- International agriculture commodity markets were busier at mid-week, with Egypt, South Korea and the Philippines active buyers. Statistics Canada released its March 31 stocks in all positions report today, showing year over year declines for all major grains and oilseeds except flaxseed and soybeans, which were up over last year. Total wheat stocks were pegged at 15.831 million metric tons (MT). Durum stocks were down 40.1% at 3.119 million MT and other wheat stocks came in at 12.712 million MT, down 6% from last year. Barley stocks were down 29.8% at 4.551 million MT; corn for grain down 4.3% at 5.541 million; oats down 21.3% at 1.482 million MT; and field peas were off 34.4% at 1.01 million MT. Canola stocks were down 16.4% from last year at 4.277 million MT; soybeans were up 15% at 1.916 million; and flaxseed stocks were up 14.8% at 736,000 MT.
