Malaysian CPO Output Up in MarchKUALA LUMPUR - May 6/07 - SNS -- Crude palm oil (CPO) production in Malaysia rose 9.3% in March to total 1.1 million metric tons (MT), according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), though it was down 13% from year earlier levels. The decline from last year was largely due to the seasonal downtrend in CPO output and some damage from the second wave of flooding in the southern state of Johor in early March. Localized adverse weather condition also affected the output in the state of Sabah. During March, the MPOB said output in Peninsular Malaysia increased 17.4% while East Malaysia's production was about the same as the February level.
