Lentil Intentions No SurpriseVANCOUVER - Apr 27/07 - SNS -- International lentil markets were not surprised by the Statistics Canada seedings intentions report for Canada. The report points to a 131,000 drop in seeded area to 1.282 million acres. Area is not broken out by class, but processors and exporters believe red lentil area will be up over last year. The implication is large green lentil seedings will bear the full cost of the decline in seeded area and then some on account of expected increases in red and small green lentil area.
