USDA Buys 20,130 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Apr 14/07 - SNS -- KANSAS CITY - Mar 7/07 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 20,130 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid. In releasing result of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 047B, the USDA said there "no offers for 1,390 MT of lentils, 2,920 MT of yellow peas, and 2,890 MT of split yellow peas." Consequently, the quantity of split yellow peas bought dropped from 8,280 to 5,390 MT; while the quantity of whole yellow peas bought fell from 4,390 to 1,470 MT; and the volume of lentils bought tender the tender dropped from the requested 12,270 MT to 10,880.
