Peas Firmer on Indian Tender NewsVANCOUVER - Apr 13/07 - SNS -- The world's field pea markets ended the week on a generally firmer note against news the Indian government has asked state-controlled trading companies to tender for 1.5 million metric tons (MT) of pulses this year. Most of the strength was in whole yellow peas, with green peas only nominally firmer in light demand. This reflects the fact yellow peas are expected to dominate the half of the tenders which will be dedicated to pulses other than beans. The joy of Canadian exporters was tempered by a new round of labor problems at Canada's CN Rail. Conductors are staging rotating strikes across the country and CN Rail is responding by locking out other employees in affected locations. This will have a clear impact on Canada's ability to smoothly move product to port. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
