Feed Peas Nominally FirmerVANCOUVER - Apr 13/07 - SNS -- International feed pea markets finished the week nominally firmer in sympathy with human consumption markets, which are absorbing the maximum quantity of peas possible. Markets in Continental Europe were largely unchanged in local currency terms, but stronger in U.S. dollars terms, adding to the nominal value of Canadian feed peas in the region. Markets in the United Kingdom were up significantly on the week, reflecting tight supplies, reduced acreage and keen competition from food markets for good quality feed pulses. Exporters in Canada report a small program for feed peas this spring, with only one vessel so far nominated to lift feed peas from Vancouver and none nominated to lift product from Thunder Bay. In fact, there are no stocks of Canada Feed grade peas in Thunder Bay and little product is enroute by rail to eastern ports. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
