Manufacturers Use Fewer EggsWASHINGTON - Apr 9/07 - SNS -- Food manufacturers in the United States reduced their egg use from year earlier levels, with 152 million dozen shell eggs broken during February 2007, according to the USDA. The total is down 4% from February a year ago, and 5% below the 160 million broken last month. During calendar year 2007 through February, shell eggs broken totaled 312 million dozen, down 4% from the comparable period in 2006.
