Peas Happy With USDA Tender UnCancellationVANCOUVER - Apr 6/07 - SNS -- Pulse markets in the United States were disappointed by the USDA's decision to cancel PL-480 food aid tender invitation 047 in its entirety. But heartened when it was quickly replaced by invitation 047B, for the same shipping peiods and quantities. The tender is for 27,480 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment from inland plants between April 24 and May 22 or from plants located at port between May 16 and June 13. It covered 370 MT of small red beans; 730 MT of great northern beans; 350 MT of pinto beans; 8,430 MT of yellow split peas; 260 MT of green split peas; 4,390 MT of whole yellow peas; 690 MT of whole green peas; and 12,270 MT of lentils.
