Feed Peas Enter Uncertain PeriodVANCOUVER - Apr 6/07 - SNS -- International feed ingredient markets are experiencing an uncertain period as traders wait to see exactly what ends up being planted this year in North America. Consequently, feed peas were generally unchanged in Europe and North America, though average grower bids in France were up sharply on the week as high-low bid spreads narrowed considerably. The pending Statistics Canada seeding intentions report will be passing interest to feed pea traders, who now expect to see a solid increase in seeded are compared to last year. However, unless it results in a break in prices, they see little positive impact on demand potential for this fraction of the North American harvest. Markets for competing ingredients have now digested the USDA's seeding intentions estimates, with markets now waiting to see what is actually sown and how crops develop.
