Lower Malaysian CPO OutputKUALA LUMPUR - Apr 4/07 - SNS -- Crude palm oil (CPO)production dropped 11.4% during February to 989,000 metric tons (MT), according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), down 6% from year earlier levels. Output in Peninsular Malaysia decreased by 11.6% while East Malaysia's production was down by 11%. The decline was largely due to the seasonal downtrend in CPO output and some damage from the second wave of flooding in the southern state of Johor in early February, notes the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. CPO output is expected to increase in March, but first quarter output will likely end up 5% lower than initially expected at 3.4 million MT.
