Solid Start to 2007 ExportsVANCOUVER - Apr 3/07 - SNS -- Field pea export clearances through licensed terminals reporting to the Canadian Ports Clearance Association were down 16% from last year during the opening quarter of the 2007 calendar year. Exporters reported loading 248,603 MT of field peas in the January through March period, compared to 295,658 during the same three month period last year. but well up on the 95,847 MT shipped during the same period in 2005. The period ended as the third best first quarter recorded by field pea exporters since Canadians started shipping peas on a bulk conventional basis.
