LITTLE ROCK - Apr 2/07 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

   Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars per
cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens,
except California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second
head and brewers are bulk.)

                             Domestic Situation

   Domestic milled rice price quotes were steady to lower in the south and
steady in California. By-products were steady to lower in the south and steady
in California.

   In the south, long grain rice prices were steady to 50 cents lower, quoted
mostly at 18.50-19.25; medium grain prices were steady, quoted mostly at 22.00-
25.00; parboiled rice prices were steady to instances 1.00 lower, quoted mostly
from 20.00-23.50; second heads were steady to 50 cents lower; brewers were
steady to instances 50 cents lower. Brokens remain in very tight supply. Rice
by-products: Offers for rice bran were steady to 10.00 lower with tight spot
supplies; millfeed was mostly steady, instances 8.00 lower; hulls were again
poorly tested with very little activity reported.

   In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly
from 25.00-26.00; short grain prices were steady; second heads were steady
quoted mostly from 17.00-17.50; brewers were steady, quoted mostly at 16.00.
Rice bran was steady; rice hulls were steady, quoted mostly at 15.00, in tight
supplies for spot sales.
